Marc Jacob's Daisy (with gifts)

I was pulling wardrobe yesterday for a client so I stopped at Macy's.  I was texting and didn't realize that I had went through the "dangerous" aisle at Macy's, the perfume aisle (I usually avoid his aisle on purpose).  Right now, my absolute favorite scent is Narcisco Rodriguez and if I was going to buy any fragrant, it was going to be that one. Well, I got there and all these free gifts with purchase were offered to me, but there were no gifts for the Narcisco perfume! It was a pretty hard decision to make. My husband usually buys my fragrances for me so I never really have to worry about anything like that....   The best gifts with purchase ended up being Marc Jacob's Daisy.  I loved that fragrant too so the decision was made and I am on cloud 9!

What I got:

Full set (large bottle) of the Daisy Fragrant and Body lotion along with two roll on's (one from the last collection) = $92.00

    The Gifts: Amazing!!!

1.  A March Jacob umbrella... (and it was raining outside too!)
2.  A March Jacob see through make up bag
3.  A full size body lotion from his last collection (it has shimmers)
4.  A free Chloe box full of sample fragrances

I couldn't resist... What a great deal!

WEEKEND INSPIRATION

This past weekend, the weather was so weird because it was gloomy and rainy on Saturday and no one wanted to do anything. Although it did give me a new interest.... collecting stylish umbrellas!
We stayed home all of Saturday (after Aidan's gymnastics class) and finally Sunday came and although the rain was gone, it was still a little gloomy. We were suppose to go to church but we over slept (not a good excuse I now) but I just couldn't be in the house anymore.  We decided to just do some inspirational  window shopping just so we can get out of the house. Dos Lagos Mall, here we came.  We had a lot of fun.

CASUAL FRIDAY - OOTD

It was a very very cold day today. I couldn't figure out what to wear because my "casual Fridays" are usually my dress up days.  I know I didn't want to wear anything that'll cover me up and I didn't want to wear a sweater.... so I was late to work.  All in the name of Fashion.  Ultimately I decided on my tights (my to go pants, per say) and something cute on top.  I quickly realized that I also don't have enough tops so thus, we had a problem.  I must have tried on at least 3 different outfits as my alarm clock keeps telling me to hurry it up.
Ultimately, I decided on this vintage top/dress with my amber sun sweater coat and these amazing wedges.  I had to add some color so these shoes were perfect.  I was going to grab a pink purse but you don't want to be too "matchy-matchy" so I just grabbed this beautiful vintage quilted bag with a gold embellishment chain.  It was big enough for me to tuck in my Tory Burch flats and off I went...  My necklace btw is a belt! Isn't it a huge statement piece? I love it! I added some vintage bangles and one of my neutral rings from Forever 21 and I was ready to go.  As you can see, I don't focus too much on makeup during the week. I'm all about quick coverage, foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer, blush, highlighter, chapstick, lipstick and I'm good to go.
After I got in my car, I realized I was in such a hurry, I forgot my scarf! It was too late to return so I went w/o one today, which was alright.  It was a crazy crazy day at work today (all week its been crazy) and believe it or not, this is my therapy.  If you are reading this, know that I am very appreciative of your time.  My good friend at work is still learning how to get the right angles so slowly but surely we will get better shots.
I hope your Friday was good and I wish you a wonderful weekend.  My next post, I wanted to show you guys how to wear one dress 3 different ways for 3 different occasions so stay tuned! Its supposed to be a rainy weekend here in SoCal, so be safe and always think positive....

CHICBUDS - "Fashion and Function"

For those of you who know me, I'm sure you've seen my little mini animal print boom box that I carry around with me all the time.  The usual reaction I get is "Wow, I can't believe all that sound is coming from that little box" (Believe it!) Its small enough to carry in my purse so I'll always plug it to my laptop so I'll have louder tunes when I'm listening to music or watching youtube videos. I've been wanting to feature these two wonderful ladies for a while now but I think this is the perfect timing because my blog encompasses everything they represent.  Chicbuds is a company that's co-founded and owned by two lovely (and very beautiful) and brilliant ladies (Nikki Carlson and Kailynn Bowling - http://www.chicbuds.com/about_us.html) who has "turned their brand into a major powerhouse player in the electronics market".....You will be truly inspired by their story and where they are now.

We first met when I worked with them on one of their first ad campaigns. When we first received their products, we couldn't believe how beautiful and trendy they were. They were young, fresh, modern, technologically advanced and best of all, fashionably functional. They make the best gifts for friends, family and most of all, for yourself.  They are very affordable and always, always so chic! The ladies are very fashion forward and conscience of selecting products that will attract their customers. They focus on trendy colors, textiles and most importantly, the functionality of the product. They are in tune with the latest trends, listen to their customers and deliver quality, fashionable and functional products. Not only do they own chicbuds but they are also mentors and advisors to many other small businesses in partnership with www.chicblvd.com and www.chicexecs.com (PR). They are true inspirations and I'm always looking forward to what they have coming out next.
You can view their products online or in selected stores. "Like" their Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/chicbuds) for specials and up to the minute deals and news. They also have wrist bands (How cool is that?) They have everything for everyone... both men and women.  I'm not just recognizing them because I know and have worked with them, but I truly love and believe in their products... and mostly their story as women business owners! Go Ladies!
Now these products are a MUST for any Budget Fashionista!
NOTE: All these items are portable and the earbuds/headphones are compatible with: iPods, iPhones, MP3 Player, Walkmen, Computers, Airplane Connectors... Basically any listening device!

TAYLOR'S 7TH BIRTHDAY

We were invited to Aidan's little friend's 7th birthday party this weekend in Irvine.  It was the most beautiful weekend (until the wind kicked in).  Taylor's mom (Keeta) is also a very good friend of mine so we were so excited to see all the people that would be attending.  The party was going to be held at a park and it was going to be a BBQ birthday party.  Well, Keeta is my kind of hostess.  She ordered BBQ from Lucille's BBQ so really there was no "real" meat on the grill, if you know what I mean (btw, if you've never had Lucille's BBQ...omg, the food is amazing!!).  It was just going to be a great get together.  Prince and Aidan went casual as usual but I just didn't feel like jeans and a t-shirt. I wore some tights and a nice top from H&M and just added some accessories.  I didn't wear heels because I knew I'd be walking on grass so although it looks like I was too over dressed, I felt good about what I wore. It made me feel good and I had a great time.

The party was so fun because we got to catch up with friends and family we haven't seen in months.  Everyone has been so busy so any time we have a chance to get together, we do.
So I'm dedicating this blog to Taylor and I wish her a very Happy Birthday and to Keeta, for being such a great friend.  Thanks for inviting us.. We had so much fun!
     - God Bless

MY CASUAL FRIDAY - OOTD

This was what I wore to work on Friday. We don’t have “casual fridays” at my work place because its casual day everyday… lol I’m basically behind my computer all day long so there’s really no reason to dress up.  In addition to that, the printer is not close to my desk so I’m constantly walking back and forth all day long to get my printouts. Heels were never an option for me. I work in the Operations Dept of my company, therefore we never see any clients, thus why its casual day everyday.
Recently, I decided that I was going to start dressing up just because I wanted to look and feel better about myself.  I usually just put on a little bit of makeup, hair up (with a plain clip) and I’m either in a simple “black” dress and some whatever flats.  Nothing much to it. I throw on a “black” sweater and that’s my outfit.  I didn’t own much of any color so I wore black almost, well everyday. I also didn’t own very many pairs of jeans or pants because at 4’11 that meant every pair had to be hemmed.  I decided just to stick to dresses.
So as you can see, I am in pants.  Believe me, my co workers were pretty shocked too.  I also wore pearls to work for the first time. Although my favorite color is white, I never wore it because I was going through a phase where I just wasn’t happy with my body.  I hid behind “black” clothes and that’s all I wore. Although there’s not much to this outfit, there’s so much more of a deeper meaning behind it then just the outfit itself.
To work:  I wore pants (black khakis) for the first time (had them hemmed), I wore heels (platforms) for the first time, I wore a necklace (pearl statement piece) and most importantly, I wore WHITE! and to make it an even more surprising day, it was a Friday.  No one expects someone to purposely dress up on a Friday.  I work with mostly men so you can just imagine the surprise and attention I got that day. Everyone noticed of course and complimented me (which was great) but the one person who knew why I was always hiding behind “black” (Mark, pictured here with me) noticed me wearing white for the first time.  He gave me a smile telling me that he was proud of me for “finally” trying a new color.. and not just any color, but white! I can tell, he was proud of me and so was I.
I’ve always struggled with my weight and it was just easier to wear black because it was  ”slimming” right? Well, I always told myself that if I ever got to a place where I am confident enough, I’d wear white.  Although it was just a tank top, I knew that I was feeling better about myself (More on this topic later).  Slowly but surely, I knew that once I was able to wear nothing but white, I’ve made it.  White has always been my favorite color but to be hiding behind black for so long, white became more then just a favorite color to me. It was the total opposite of black therefore, it became the color of confidence. I still own a lot of black pieces so I do incorporate them into my wardrobe as well but when I shop now, I no longer look at black pieces. I love that this season is all about colors because I am so excited to start experimenting and I truly look forward to the day I buy my first white dress!
